Manti is a pioneer community of great historic significance...

Have you found this website because you have roots in Manti? Maybe you have family here or plan to visit this area. There are people all over the world who have Manti Connections.

Manti is a pioneer community of great historic significance with the beautiful LDS temple built in 1888 and over 100 century-old homes still standing. Manti’s first city hall, built in 1875, has just been lovingly restored after three years and over 4,400 hours of volunteer work. Generous funding for the restoration to this point has been provided by the George S.and Dolores Dore' Eccles Foundation, $28,000; Manti City, $10,000; Certified Local Government (CLG), $5,500; Manti Destiny Committee, $5,600; National Trust, $4,200; Exxon, $2500;Manti Ladies Literary Club, $2,000; as well as many private donors

With interior restoration completed, the Historic City Hall now houses a tourist information center and a local museum as well as a social hall on the second floor which is used for small wedding receptions, luncheons and other civic meetings. it has just recently become the home of the Sanpete County office of economic development and tourism. The only thing lacking is a sorely needed elevator. The long stairway prohibits full use of the second floor by people with special needs.

An addition on the rear of the building to accommodate an elevator has been designed by WPA Architecture of Provo, Utah. It will meet ADA (American Disabilities Act) requirements and is designed to blend in with the original structure. Estimated cost of the elevator addition is $140,000. You can be part of the final restoration of this significant historic building by making a donation to the Manti Historic City Hall elevator fund.
